- Main suites start at $99 to $139 a month: Ahrefs Lite $129, SE Ranking Core $129, Moz Pro Standard $99 and Semrush SEO $139.
- Budget suites start lower: SpyFu Basic $39, Mangools Basic $61, and Ubersuggest, which states a US$29 to US$99 range.
- Rank trackers alone cost less: Keyword.com from $4 a month for a small keyword package; AccuRanker from €224 for its smallest package of 2,000 keywords.
- The headline price is the floor. Extra users, more tracked keywords, white-label reports and specialist toolkits are priced on top, and some plans quote a first-month or first-year price.
- MrKeyword (our product) is free for 1 website and 25 tracked keywords, then $10 to $49 a month, built on your own Search Console data rather than a web-wide database.
Disclosure: MrKeyword publishes this page and is one of the tools compared. Every other vendor's figure comes from that vendor's own pricing page, read on the date shown in the table, and is kept in one dataset that we re-check every month. Where a page did not state something, we say so instead of guessing.
How much do SEO tools cost?
As of November 2026, listed prices for paid SEO tools run from $4 a month for a small rank-tracking package to $1,499 a month for Ahrefs Enterprise, and most full suites start between $99 and $139 a month. Free options exist too: Google Search Console, and free plans from Semrush, Ahrefs and MrKeyword with tight limits. The table lists each tool's listed monthly prices, its cheapest annual rate, what its entry plan tracks, and the date we read it.

Two rows need a note. AccuRanker prices in euros, and its prices rise with the number of keywords you track. Ubersuggest shows each plan in the visitor's local currency, so we quote only the US-dollar range its own pricing page prints; we do not convert currencies ourselves.
What do you get at each price level?
Up to $61 a month buys a budget suite or a rank tracker, $99 to $139 buys the entry plan of a main suite, and $249 or more buys team and agency plans with more seats, projects and history. The jump between levels is about capacity and data depth, not about different tools.
Budget suites and trackers
SpyFu Basic ($39, or $29 a month yearly) and Mangools Basic ($61, or $37.70 yearly) both research competitors from their own databases, with smaller limits: 5,000 keywords tracked weekly on SpyFu, 200 on Mangools, and one user. Keyword.com sells rank tracking alone from $4 a month. These suit one person working on a few sites.
Main suites, entry plans
Ahrefs Lite ($129), SE Ranking Core ($129), Moz Pro Standard ($99) and Semrush's SEO plan ($139) are the usual starting points for a business doing SEO seriously. Their tracked-keyword allowances differ widely: 2,000 daily on SE Ranking Core, 750 weekly on Ahrefs Lite, 500 daily on Semrush SEO and 300 on Moz Standard. Ahrefs also lists a $29 Starter plan, and Moz a $49 plan for one website, with fewer features.
Team and agency plans
The next tier, $279 for SE Ranking Growth, $249 for Ahrefs Standard, $299 for Semrush Pro+ and $299 for Moz Large, adds projects, seats and history. Above that, Ahrefs Enterprise is $1,499 a month on an annual commitment, and Semrush Advanced and SE Ranking Enterprise are priced by sales.
What extra costs should you budget for?
Budget for extra users first: most SEO tools include one user on their entry plan and charge for each additional person. After seats, the common extras are more tracked keywords, white-label client reports, specialist toolkits, and API or AI-prompt allowances.
Users included and the price of one more, as of November 2026
| Tool | Plan | Users included | Extra user |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semrush | SEO | 1 | From $45/mo |
| Ahrefs | Lite | 1 | $40/mo (up to 2) |
| SE Ranking | Core | 1 manager seat | From $16 |
| Moz Pro | Standard | 1 | $49/mo |
| Mangools | Basic | 1 (no extra seats available) | None sold on this plan |
| SpyFu | Basic | 1 | $15 |
| AccuRanker | Professional | Not shown on the pricing page | Not stated on the pricing page |
| Keyword.com | Search Visibility | Not shown on the pricing page | Not stated on the pricing page |
| MrKeyword (ours) | Starter | 2 | More seats come with Growth (3) and Agency (10) |
Watch for three pricing patterns. Some prices are introductory: SpyFu's Pro + AI is $59 for the first month, then $119, and Moz quotes its yearly prices "for your first year". Some add-ons are annual-only, such as SE Ranking's Agency Pack. And some limits are soft: Moz notes that overages are not included, and Ahrefs bills pay-as-you-go usage automatically once you switch it on. Our per-vendor pages list each add-on with its price: Semrush pricing, Ahrefs pricing, SE Ranking pricing, Moz Pro pricing, Mangools pricing, SpyFu pricing.
How much do annual plans save?
Annual billing saves between 10% (AccuRanker) and about 35% (Mangools) on the tools compared here, usually paid upfront for the year. The catch is refunds: several vendors refund only in a short window, or not at all, so test on a trial or free plan before you commit to a year.
| Tool | Annual billing | Trial | Free option | Refunds and cancellation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Semrush | Up to 17% off, paid upfront for the year | 7-day free trial | Free plan: 1 demo project and 10 reports a day, no card | 7-day money-back on first annual purchases only |
| Ahrefs | Up to 17% off; the page does not show per-month annual prices | No trial listed; Ahrefs Free instead | Ahrefs Free for sites you verify | No refunds in general; unused monthly plans may be refunded on request |
| SE Ranking | 20% off with annual billing | 14-day free trial, no credit card | None listed | Payments are non-refundable unless the service was not delivered as promised |
| Moz Pro | 20% off the base plan when you pay yearly | Free trial offered; length not stated on the pricing page | Free Moz Community account with limited MozBar, Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer access | Cancel or change plans at any time |
| Mangools | About 35% off with annual billing | None listed | Free account with limited lookups | Full refund within 48 hours of payment (not for 2 consecutive subscriptions) |
| SpyFu | 25% off with annual billing | None listed | None listed | 30-day money-back guarantee |
| Ubersuggest | Yearly and one-time lifetime plans offered, priced in local currency | 7-day free trial on monthly plans | Limited free account | Lifetime purchases are final and non-refundable |
| AccuRanker | 10% off with annual payment | None listed | None listed | Upgrade, downgrade or cancel at no cost |
| Keyword.com | 20% off billed annually | Free trial, no credit card | None listed | Not stated on the pricing page |
| MrKeyword (ours) | Starter $100 a year instead of $120 paid monthly | No trial; the Free plan has no end date | Free plan: 1 website, 25 tracked keywords | See our terms |

Start tracking freeWhich SEO tool is cheapest for what you need?
The cheapest tool is the one whose limits match your work: Search Console for your own site's rankings, a budget suite for light competitor research, and a main suite only when you research competitors every week or manage many sites. Start from the job, not the brand.
| If you need… | Cheapest fitting option | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Your own site's queries, clicks and positions | Google Search Console | Free |
| A daily history of your own positions, plus keyword volumes and an audit | MrKeyword Free, then Starter | $0, then $10 |
| Rank tracking from live results, few keywords | Keyword.com Search Visibility | From $4 |
| Light competitor and keyword research, one person | SpyFu Basic or Mangools Basic | $39 or $61 |
| Daily tracking of thousands of keywords plus research | SE Ranking Core | $129 |
| Moz Domain Authority and Moz's link data | Moz Pro Standard | $99 |
| The largest web-wide databases, competitor traffic and backlinks | Ahrefs Lite or Semrush SEO | $129 or $139 |

Why do SEO tools cost so much?
Most of an SEO suite's price pays for its own web-wide data: crawling billions of pages for backlinks, collecting search results for millions of keywords, and estimating traffic for any domain. That is what lets Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking, Moz, SpyFu and Mangools show data about sites you do not own, and it is expensive to collect and keep fresh.
Data about your own site is different. Google publishes it free in Search Console: every query you appeared for, with clicks, impressions and average position, measured by Google rather than estimated. Tools built on that first-party data, MrKeyword among them, can cost far less because they do not maintain a copy of the web. The trade-off is that they cannot measure competitors the way a suite can. Our guide to how to track keyword rankings explains the difference between measured and checked positions.
Where does MrKeyword fit?
MrKeyword, which we make, is a low-cost tool for the sites you own: free for one website, then $10, $19 or $49 a month for 1, 3 or 10 websites. It keeps a daily history of your Search Console and Bing positions, adds keyword volumes from Google Keyword Planner, a site audit and a backlink checker.
MrKeyword plans (our product)
| Plan | Monthly billing | Billed yearly | Websites | Tracked keywords | Rank updates | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 1 website | 25 | Daily, from Search Console | 1 |
| Starter | $10/mo | $8.33/mo ($100 a year) | 1 website | 500 | Daily, from Search Console | 2 |
| Growth | $19/mo | $15.83/mo ($190 a year) | 3 websites | 1,500 | Daily, from Search Console | 3 |
| Agency | $49/mo | $40.83/mo ($490 a year) | 10 websites | 5,000 | Daily, from Search Console | 10 |
Some parts work without an account: the free site audit checks a single page with no sign-up, the free backlink checker shows the first 5 referring domains, and the domain authority checker and website traffic checker take up to 5 domains at a time. The free keyword research tool runs on a free account with 10 keyword lookups a month and no card.
How we collect and update these prices
We read every price on the vendor's own pricing page, record the page and the date beside each plan, and re-check the whole dataset every month. We do not use reseller listings, review sites or affiliate pages for prices. When a page loads its prices with JavaScript, as Mangools' does, we read the rendered page; when a vendor shows prices in local currency, as Ubersuggest does, we quote only what it states in US dollars. We do not convert currencies, estimate missing limits or round prices.
The vendor tables on this page and on each vendor's pricing post are generated from that one dataset, so a change made during the monthly check reaches every page at once. If you spot a price that has changed since our last check, the vendor's page is the authority.
What MrKeyword does not do
MrKeyword is cheaper than the suites above because it does less: it is built on your own data, not a copy of the web.
- No web-scale keyword index. It cannot list every keyword a competitor ranks for. Its search volumes come from Google Keyword Planner through the official Google Ads API, for the keywords you research.
- Competitor positions are predicted, not measured. The Competitors tab in rank tracking estimates where rival domains rank from MrKeyword's own index and labels every figure Predicted.
- No live SERP checks. It never scrapes Google. Your positions are Google's own average positions from Search Console (and Bing Webmaster Tools), for sites you verify, with Google's usual 2 to 3 day delay.
- A smaller link index. Backlinks and Link Authority come from MrKeyword's web graph, which is smaller than the link indexes the big suites run.
- No local pack, map or ads tracking, and no social media or PPC toolkits.

Is Semrush or Ahrefs cheaper?
