How it works

Three steps, about five minutes.

  1. 1

    Enter your website

Type the site you want to track. It is carried through sign-in, so the app starts from that website.

  2. 2

    Connect Search Console

Sign in with Google and pick the property. The connection is read-only: MrKeyword can read performance data and cannot change a property or touch your site.

  3. 3

    Pick keywords and watch

Paste them, import a CSV, or take the suggestions — the queries your site already appears for. Then positions by day, device and country.

Movement

The week's gains and losses, in one list.

Biggest movers puts the position each keyword came from next to where it landed, over 7, 28 or 90 days. Change counts only keywords present in both periods, so a keyword you added yesterday cannot manufacture a swing — and a warning appears when Google starts ranking a different page than the one you meant.

  • Up and down movement, rounded to one decimal
  • Alerts when a keyword crosses a threshold you set
  • A wrong-page warning when the target and the ranking URL disagree
  • An opt-in weekly email digest every Monday

Distribution

How much of the list is on page one.

Every tracked keyword lands in a band — top 3, 4–10, 11–20, 21–50, 51+ — with a page-one gauge beside it, so the answer to “are we winning?” is one number you can put in a report.

  • Bands, a page-one share and the closest wins
  • A keyword position checker for every query you already appear for
  • Positions by device and by 18 countries
  • CSV export of everything on screen

Queries

Start with the phrases Google already knows.

The most useful rank-tracking list is often the one Search Console has already measured. Use it to choose the keywords worth tracking and to spot the page-one wins closest to the surface.

  • Filter to page-one and almost-there terms
  • Add queries to tracking without retyping them
  • Keep clicks, impressions and position beside the phrase

What this does not do

A rank tracker built on your own search data has edges, and they are worth knowing before you start.

  • Positions are Search Console and Bing averages for the period you chose, not a live scrape of page one. MrKeyword does not scrape search results and does not buy rankings from a third party.
  • It needs a verified property. Without Google Search Console (or Bing Webmaster Tools) connected, there is nothing to read.
  • A day with no impressions has no position, so the chart shows a gap rather than a zero.
  • Competitor rank tracking is not offered, because it would need scraped or bought data.

FAQ

Questions about the free rank tracker.

Start tracking free
Is the rank tracker free?

Yes, on the Free plan, which never expires and asks for no credit card. It tracks 25 keywords on 1 website. Bigger allowances start at $1 a month.

Why do I have to sign in?

Because a rank tracker has to read your own search data, and that means connecting Google Search Console to a workspace. Enter your site here, sign in free, and the app picks up from that website.

Do I need Google Search Console?

Yes. MrKeyword tracks positions by reading the average position Google Search Console reports for your own verified property, so it has to be connected — read-only. Bing Webmaster Tools is optional and adds Bing's side of the same picture.

Are these live search results?

No, and this matters: a position in MrKeyword is the impression-weighted average position your search engine reported for the period you selected. That is reliable for trends and client reporting, and it is not the same as refreshing a search page yourself. MrKeyword does not scrape search results.

How many keywords can I track on Free?

25 tracked keywords on 1 website. Basic raises that to 250 for $1 a month, and Pro AI to 1,000 per website.

Can I use it as a keyword position checker for any site?

Only for sites you can verify in Search Console. MrKeyword reads your own property's data, so it cannot report positions for a competitor's domain.

What happens if I stay on the free plan?

You keep it — it does not expire and asks for no card. A paid plan simply raises the allowances.
