How rank tracking works
MrKeyword is an SEO workspace for people who have to explain their numbers. Every metric in the product names the source it came from, and anything the product cannot measure says so instead of guessing.
MrKeyword connects to the search accounts you already own and turns them into work you can ship: rankings, keyword ideas, technical fixes and reports.

How rank tracking worksSearch volume fetched live from Google Keyword Planner every time you search, with an estimated difficulty score, intent and question keywords — each labelled with where it came from.
How keyword research worksMrKeyword's own crawler runs 60 technical checks across your site and scores what to fix first.
How the site audit worksNine report sections, weekly or monthly schedules, email delivery to up to 25 people, and CSV or Print / Save as PDF export.
How reports workYou already have Search Console open. MrKeyword turns it into a ranked list of pages to fix, and keeps the history after Google's 16-month window has rolled past.
Each client is its own website inside the workspace, with its own data, its own roles and its own reports. Pro AI is priced per website, so the bill follows the client list.
The audit explains every issue in plain English with a fix, and the page audit can hand your developer a ready-made prompt for their AI coding assistant.
MrKeyword does not buy a third-party SEO index and re-badge it. Everything you see comes from one of these four places.
webmasters.readonly. MrKeyword stores its own copy of the daily rows, so your history stays available after Google's roughly 16-month window has moved on.Webmaster.read scope. Bing query data may not include country, device or the ranking URL — where a dimension is missing, MrKeyword leaves it blank rather than filling it in.robots.txt.Each number travels with a source, a label — Measured, Derived, Estimated, Predicted or Not available — a confidence level and an "as of" date. This is enforced in code: a metric that cannot say where it came from is rejected before it reaches the screen.
A keyword with no verified demand signal shows "Not available", not zero. A day with no impressions is a gap in the chart, not a position of 100. A domain we have not seen linked shows "No data" rather than an invented score.
MrKeyword does not scrape search results and does not sell you a competitor's traffic estimate dressed up as fact. Competitor rank tracking stays switched off until there is measured data behind it.
Keyword difficulty is a prediction from crawl authority, content depth, relevance and link evidence — not a live search-result measurement — and the product says exactly that wherever the score appears.
The Search Console and Bing connections request read scopes. MrKeyword can read your performance data; it cannot change a property, submit a sitemap or alter your site. See the security details.
These are not oversights. They are decisions, and they hold until there is real data behind them.
If something here is unclear or you think a number is wrong, tell us — that is the fastest way to make the product more honest.
