Ubersuggest site audit: what it checks, its limits, and free alternatives for one website

Ubersuggest's site audit crawls a domain, scores it from 0 to 100 and sorts problems into errors, warnings and recommendations. Paid plans crawl 1,000 to 10,000 pages per report, weekly. If you audit one site, Search Console, Bing Site Scan, Screaming Frog's free tier and MrKeyword's free checker cover most of the same ground. Facts as of November 2026.

A site audit summary card showing a health score and issue counts
The short version
  • Ubersuggest's site audit crawls your domain (or one page), gives a health score from 0 to 100 and sorts problems into errors, warnings and recommendations, with page speed per device and AI-written fixes for some on-page issues.
  • Limits as of November 2026: 1,000 pages per report on Individual, 5,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise, crawled weekly. Its pricing page did not state a free audit allowance, so we quote none.
  • It audits HTML pages only, follows internal links (not nofollow ones) and is often blocked by firewalls; Ubersuggest's help guide says to allow its crawler IPs.
  • Free alternatives for one site: Google Search Console (what Google indexed), Bing Webmaster Tools Site Scan (a free crawl, quota set by Bing), Screaming Frog's free tier (500 URLs per crawl) and Ahrefs Free (verified sites).
  • MrKeyword (our product) checks one page with no sign-up, and crawls a whole site against 68 checks on a free account: 100 pages a month, then $10 a month for 2,000.

Disclosure: MrKeyword publishes this page and is one of the alternatives compared. Every Ubersuggest, Bing, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs fact links to the vendor's own page, read on 1 November 2026. Where a page did not state something, such as Ubersuggest's free audit allowance, we say so rather than guess.

What is the Ubersuggest site audit?

Ubersuggest's site audit is a crawler, built into Neil Patel's Ubersuggest SEO tool, that visits the pages of a domain, checks them against technical and on-page rules, and returns a health score out of 100 with every problem sorted into errors, warnings and recommendations. You can audit a whole domain or a single page URL, and its site audit page says a one-off check needs no project, install or code.

The report has three parts: Pages Discovered (every crawled page, split into successful, redirected, broken and blocked), the issue list (grouped by severity and type, each with the pages it affects) and page speed, scored separately for mobile and desktop. For on-page problems such as a missing meta description, it offers AI-written replacement text you can copy.

What does Ubersuggest's site audit check?

It checks the common technical and on-page basics: titles, headings, thin content, broken pages and links, redirects, speed, sitemaps, indexability and SSL. As of November 2026, its site audit page listed these checks:

  • Titles: missing titles, more than one title tag, the same title on several pages, and titles too long or too short.
  • Headings: pages with no H1.
  • Thin content: pages with a low word count. Its help guide says pages under 200 words are flagged, and that this is normal for Contact or About pages that are not meant to rank.
  • Broken pages and redirects: 4xx pages, internal links pointing at them, and temporary redirects that should be permanent.
  • Speed: slow pages on any device, and text compression switched off.
  • Crawling and indexing: a missing sitemap, pages blocked from being indexed, and invalid or expiring SSL certificates.
  • Markup basics: doctype and character encoding.

The health score is calculated from how many issues were found and how severe they are. Ubersuggest reads 0 to 69 as structural problems, 70 to 89 as repeated issues with quick fixes and 90 to 100 as technically sound, and says the score to watch is the change from your last audit.

How many pages can Ubersuggest's site audit crawl?

As of November 2026, Ubersuggest's pricing page listed 1,000 pages per audit report on the Individual plan, 5,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise, with crawling weekly on all three. The same plans allow 1, 7 and 15 projects and 150, 300 and 900 reports a day.

PlanPages crawled per reportCrawling frequencyProjectsReports a day

Business5,000Weekly7300
Enterprise10,000Weekly15900
From ubersuggest.com/en/pricing, read 1 November 2026. Plan prices were shown to us in local currency, so we do not convert them; the page's own comparison strip put Ubersuggest at US$29 to US$99 a month. Monthly, yearly and lifetime billing were offered.

What about the free version? The pricing page says you can downgrade to a free account at any time, and its FAQ describes a one-time 7-day free trial on monthly subscriptions (lifetime purchases are final). It did not state how many pages a free account can audit. Signed out, the site audit page labelled our visit as the free version with one search and offered a trial for more. Treat the free version as a sample, and check the current limit in the tool before you plan around it.

How do you run an Ubersuggest site audit?

Enter your domain, start the audit, then work through the errors first and recrawl once your fixes are live. In three steps:

  1. Enter a domain or a page URL in the search box on the Site Audit page and start it. For ongoing monitoring, create a project for the site instead, so it stays in your menu and each audit is compared with the last.
  2. Read the report from the top. Ubersuggest suggests starting with errors with high SEO impact, then fixing issues that repeat across many pages, because one fix to a shared template can clear hundreds of flags.
  3. Click Recrawl Website after your changes go live, and compare the new score with the old one. Its help guide notes that recrawling is for paying users and suggests waiting between crawls.

Before you start, check the crawler can reach the site. The help guide says the audit starts from the https version, needs www and non-www to redirect to one address, audits HTML pages only and stops at nofollow internal links. Firewalls and Cloudflare may block it as a scraper; if the audit stops after one page, allow Ubersuggest's crawler IPs.

What are the limits of Ubersuggest's site audit?

Its main limits are the page cap per report, a weekly crawl cadence, HTML-only crawling and a free allowance it does not publish. None is unusual, but they decide whether it fits your site:

  • Page cap. A site with more than 1,000 pages needs Business or Enterprise for a complete crawl on one report.
  • Not Google's view. Like every third-party crawler, it reports what its own bot found, not what Google indexed. Ubersuggest asks you to sign in with Google partly so it can read Search Console and find more issues.
  • Part of a suite. You pay for keyword research, rank tracking and backlinks with it. Good value if you use them; wasted if you only want the audit.

What are the free alternatives to Ubersuggest's site audit?

For one website, five free options cover most of what Ubersuggest's audit does: Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools Site Scan, Screaming Frog SEO Spider's free tier, Ahrefs Free and MrKeyword's free SEO checker. Each takes a different angle, so the table compares how they crawl and what they cost.

Google Search Console

Google Search Console is free and is the only tool that shows which of your pages Google has actually indexed and why the rest were left out. Its Page indexing report lists pages Google found but did not index, with a reason for each (blocked by robots.txt, noindex, redirect, duplicate, 404 and more). It does not crawl on demand or check titles and headings, so pair it with a crawler. Our SEO audit checklist shows how to read it alongside one.

Bing Webmaster Tools Site Scan

Bing's Site Scan is a free, on-demand site audit for sites you have verified in Bing Webmaster Tools, and it is the closest free match to Ubersuggest's audit. You choose a scope (the whole website, one sitemap or a list of URLs), set the maximum number of pages, and Bing crawls as bingbot. Results come as errors, warnings and notices, each with the number of pages affected and a CSV download. The limits: your monthly page quota is set automatically by Bing and cannot be raised on request, and you can keep up to five scans at a time. Our Bing Webmaster Tools guide covers setup, including importing your sites from Search Console.

Screaming Frog SEO Spider (free version)

Screaming Frog's SEO Spider is a desktop crawler whose free version crawls up to 500 URLs per crawl. Its product page says a licence, listed at £199 a year as of November 2026, removes that limit and unlocks saved crawls and the full configuration. It runs on your own computer, so there is no monthly quota and it can crawl any public site, but the work happens on your machine and reading its many tabs takes some technical knowledge. For a site of a few hundred pages it is a thorough free option.

Ahrefs Free (formerly Ahrefs Webmaster Tools)

Ahrefs Free gives verified site owners Ahrefs' Site Audit at no cost, with 5,000 crawl credits per verified project each month. Its product page says the audit checks for 170+ technical and on-page issues and that credits are only used on HTML pages that return a 200 status. It suits sites you can verify; it cannot audit a competitor.

MrKeyword free SEO checker

MrKeyword's free SEO checker does two things: it checks any single page with no sign-up, and it crawls a whole site against 68 checks on a free account. We make MrKeyword, so here is exactly what it does and does not do.

  • One page, no account: paste an address and it fetches the page live and scores it out of 100, covering the title and description, headings, word count, images without alt text, internal and external links, canonical and robots tags, structured data and response time, with what to fix first.
  • Whole site, free account: its own crawler checks 68 issue types in seven categories (6 critical, 26 warnings, 36 notices), each with the fix written out and the pages it affects. Like Ubersuggest, it flags pages under 200 words as thin.
  • Allowance: 100 crawled pages a month on 1 website on the Free plan, which never expires and needs no card. Starter is $10 a month for 2,000 pages, Growth $19 for 10,000 across 3 websites. See pricing.
  • The score shows its working: 100 minus a weighted deduction for each issue (25 for critical, 8 for a warning, 2 for a notice) scaled by the square root of the share of pages affected.
  • Polite crawling: at most two requests a second, robots.txt and Crawl-delay obeyed, identified as MrKeywordBot so you can see it in your logs. On paid plans, re-crawls can run weekly or monthly, and each crawl is compared with the last (new, fixed, still there).
  • Beside your search data: connect Search Console and the audit sits next to your queries, positions and Core Web Vitals field data. The Site Audit feature page covers templates, filters and the crawl diff.

Where Ubersuggest is stronger: its Individual plan crawls up to 1,000 pages a report every week (around 4,000 a month), more than MrKeyword's Free (100) and Starter (2,000) monthly allowances, it audits any domain without adding it to a workspace, it scores page speed per device inside the audit, and it writes replacement copy for on-page issues. MrKeyword only crawls sites you have added to your own workspace, and it offers AI page audits on paid plans rather than inside every crawl.

Which site audit tool should you use for one website?

Start with the two free search-engine tools, add one crawler, and pay only when your site outgrows the free crawl. A practical order for one website:

Whichever tool you choose, fix in order of damage: first what stops pages being crawled or indexed, then broken pages and links, then everything else, ranked by how many pages each problem affects. Our guide to writing an SEO audit report shows how to turn the findings into a prioritised fix list, and running an SEO audit with Claude shows how to work through it from an AI assistant.

What MrKeyword's audit does not do

MrKeyword is a narrower tool than Ubersuggest, and it is fair to say where.

  • It does not crawl a domain you have not added to your workspace, so it is not a competitor audit tool.
  • It does not ignore robots.txt to reach a page, even on your own site.
  • It does not estimate Core Web Vitals; where Google has no field data for a page, it says so.
  • It does not guarantee a ranking change. An audit reports technical problems and how widespread they are.

Questions and answers

Ubersuggest site audit questions

Is Ubersuggest's site audit free?

Partly. Ubersuggest offers a free account and a one-time 7-day free trial on monthly subscriptions, but as of November 2026 its pricing page did not state how many pages a free account can audit. Paid plans list 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 pages per audit report.

How many pages does Ubersuggest's site audit crawl?

As of November 2026, its pricing page listed 1,000 pages per report on Individual, 5,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise, with weekly crawling on all three plans.

Why does my Ubersuggest site audit only crawl one page?

Ubersuggest's help guide names the usual causes: a firewall or Cloudflare blocking its crawler, robots.txt or .htaccess rules, missing redirects between www and non-www versions, a missing SSL certificate or sitemap, or slow pages timing out. Allowing Ubersuggest's crawler IPs fixes most firewall blocks.

What is a good Ubersuggest SEO health score?

Ubersuggest reads 90 to 100 as technically sound, 70 to 89 as repeated issues with quick fixes and 0 to 69 as structural problems. It says the number that matters most is whether the score rose since your last audit.

What is the best free alternative to Ubersuggest's site audit?

For one website, use Google Search Console for what Google indexed, plus one free crawler: Bing Webmaster Tools Site Scan or Ahrefs Free for verified sites, Screaming Frog's free version for up to 500 URLs per crawl, or MrKeyword's free SEO checker for a single page without sign-up and a whole-site crawl on a free account.

Can MrKeyword audit a competitor's website?

No. MrKeyword's crawler only crawls sites added to your own workspace. Its single-page checker can fetch any public page, but a full-site audit of a competitor needs a tool such as Ubersuggest or Screaming Frog.
