The estimate

What a website traffic checker can and cannot tell you.

Only a website's owner can measure its traffic, in tools like Google Search Console or analytics. Every traffic checker, free or paid, is estimating from what it can see from the outside, and the honest ones say so.

MrKeyword estimates from links. MrKeyword's web graph ranks about 135 million domains by how the rest of the web links to them, and well-linked sites tend to get more search traffic. MrKeyword turns that position into monthly organic clicks, then calibrates the curve against the real Search Console clicks of sites connected to MrKeyword. The result is labelled Estimated and comes with its range.

How to use the checker

Three steps to an estimate you can explain.

  1. Enter up to five websites

Your own or competitors', with or without https://. No Search Console access is needed.

  2. Read the estimate here

Monthly organic clicks, the low-to-high range, ranking keywords where the model has them, and authority appear on this page.

  3. Check the working

Each row says which model produced it and how many connected sites calibrated it. Share the result with a link.

How the numbers are made

How every estimate is made.

The checker shows its inputs, so a number can be questioned.

MrKeyword web graph

MrKeyword's graph of the web, which ranks about 135 million domains by PageRank. MrKeyword keeps the top 50 million.

Calibrated on real clicks

Connected sites' measured Search Console clicks pull the curve toward reality. A fitted model takes over once enough sites connect.

Labelled Estimated

Every figure carries its range and confidence. Nothing here is presented as a measurement.

A few useful boundaries

What this does not do

A traffic estimate is a starting point for comparing sites, not a fact about one.

It is not a measurement.

Only the site's owner can see real traffic, in Search Console or analytics.

It covers organic search clicks

Not direct, social, paid or referral visits.

The range is wide on purpose.

Links predict traffic loosely; the range narrows as more sites calibrate the model.

Websites outside the web graph show “No data”

rather than an invented number.

How does the website traffic checker estimate traffic?

From the website's place in MrKeyword's web graph, which ranks about 135 million domains by how the rest of the web links to them. MrKeyword turns that position into monthly organic clicks with a model calibrated against real Search Console clicks from sites connected to MrKeyword, and shows the range around every figure.

Is the traffic number exact?

No. Nobody outside a website can measure its traffic; every third-party traffic figure is an estimate. MrKeyword labels its figure Estimated, shows a low-to-high range, and narrows that range as more connected sites calibrate the model.

Is the website traffic checker free?

Yes. Enter up to five websites and the estimates appear on this page with no account. Each result has a link you can share.

Why is my own site's estimate different from Search Console?

Search Console measures your real clicks; the checker estimates them from links. Connect your site on a free account and MrKeyword shows the measured numbers instead, and your site helps calibrate the estimate for everyone else.

Does it use Similarweb, Semrush or Ahrefs data?

No. No paid traffic or SEO data API is called. The inputs are MrKeyword's web graph and Search Console clicks that site owners chose to connect, and the model is described under every result.

Why does a website show “No data”?

MrKeyword keeps the top 50 million domains of its web graph. A website outside it, usually a new or barely linked site, has no estimate rather than an invented one.

Swap the estimate for the real number.
