Free Keyword Cannibalization Checker (Search Console CSV)
Paste a Search Console export that includes query and page together. Up to 20,000 rows, analysed in your browser—no sign-up and no upload.
Paste your query-and-page export
Required columns: Query, Page, Clicks, Impressions, Position (Google's header names are accepted). Quoted fields and commas inside cells are supported.
Potential conflicts (intent review required)
Results appear here after you paste an export and run the checker.
What the checker finds
Keyword cannibalization is when two or more of your pages each earn a meaningful share of one query's impressions. This tool flags those overlaps using the same thresholds as MrKeyword's Search Console analysis: fragment URLs merge with their page, brand queries and search operators drop out, and dominant pages (≥80% of impressions) are excluded.
How to get a combined query-and-page export
In Search Console's Performance report, choose a date range, then export or download data that includes both the query and page dimensions in one table—each row is one query–page pair with clicks, impressions and average position. Google's Search Console API dimension and export guidance describes the queryPage row type and why you need both keys on every row.
If your UI only offers separate Queries and Pages files, use the API or BigQuery export with dimensions query and page together; do not try to merge two summary exports by hand.
Methodology and thresholds
- Rows merge on normalized page URL (strip
#fragmentand trailing slash). - Competing pages need ≥5 impressions, ≥10% of the query's impressions, position >0 and ≤20.
- Queries with one page ≥80% of impressions are treated as healthy, not conflicts.
- Positions across duplicate rows are impression-weighted averages.
How to interpret overlaps
Each result is a potential conflict: two URLs both visible for one query. Confirm whether they serve different intents before changing URLs. The checker does not recommend automatic redirects, canonicals or merges—only measured clicks, impressions, positions and shares to prioritise manual review.

FAQs
What does this checker find?
Queries where two or more of your URLs each hold at least 5 impressions, at least 10% of that query's impressions, and a position of 20 or better, while no single URL holds 80% or more. Each finding is a potential conflict that needs an intent review—not proof you should redirect.
Why can't I join separate Queries and Pages exports?
Search Console aggregates the Queries and Pages tables differently, and neither export lists which page earned which query. Without the combined query-and-page dimension, joining on totals double-counts or misses pairs. Export query plus page together (API or supported bulk export).
Does my data leave my browser?
No. Parsing, aggregation and filtering run locally. Nothing is uploaded to MrKeyword unless you connect Search Console in the app.
Will it tell me to 301 redirect a page?
No. It lists measured overlap so you can decide whether pages serve different intents. Redirects and canonicals are your call after that review.
Ongoing monitoring in MrKeyword
Connect Search Console once and MrKeyword surfaces competing pages on tracked keywords, with alerts and share breakdowns—no spreadsheets each month.
