Bing rank tracker: measured positions from your verified Bing Webmaster Tools site

MrKeyword connects to Bing Webmaster Tools with read-only OAuth, syncs each verified site once a day, and stores a daily copy of Bing's clicks, impressions, CTR and average impression position for every tracked keyword you add. Bing rows stay on their own engine tab, separate from Google Search Console.

Teammates following their search progress on a chart
The short version
  • You can track keywords only for websites you verify in the Bing Webmaster Tools account you connect to MrKeyword.
  • Each site syncs once a day; Bing query stats feed tracked keywords, and you can request a manual refresh at most every 10 minutes.
  • Every Bing row stores clicks, impressions, CTR and average impression position, labelled Measured with source Bing Webmaster Tools.
  • Google and Bing stay separate engines in Rank Tracking; MrKeyword never merges their clicks or positions.
  • Bing does not report the ranking URL or country and device splits here, so MrKeyword leaves those blank instead of guessing.

What a Bing rank tracker is here

A Bing rank tracker on MrKeyword is not a live scrape of bing.com. It reads the same average impression position Bing Webmaster Tools reports for queries your site already appeared for, together with clicks, impressions and CTR, and keeps a daily copy so you can see movement over 7 to 365 days. That matches how rank tracking works for Google, but on a separate Bing engine tab.

That suits businesses that care about Bing, Microsoft Copilot's web results and any channel fed by Bing's index, and want numbers Bing measured rather than a third-party guess. It does not replace a SERP tracker for competitor keywords, city-level checks or Copilot citation counts.

Whose sites you can track

Only properties you own and verify in Bing Webmaster Tools. MrKeyword matches each website in your workspace to a verified Bing site URL (exact URL first, then the same host with or without www). If the site is missing or unverified in Bing, sync stops with a clear message and retries the next day. You cannot track a competitor's Bing positions through this connection.

Connect Bing and import data

  1. Verify the site in Bing Webmaster Tools

Add the property and complete verification in Bing first. MrKeyword's Bing access is read-only and does not verify sites for you. Our Bing Webmaster Tools guide walks through setup.

  2. Connect Bing in MrKeyword

In Settings, connect Bing Webmaster Tools with OAuth (or use a deployment that supplies a Bing API key). The connection is per workspace.

  3. Add the website and tracked keywords

Add your site, connect Search Console if you use Google too, then add keywords in Rank Tracking (paste, CSV or from queries you already rank for). Optional close variants match singular or plural and hyphen or space forms.

  4. Wait for the daily Bing sync

The Bing worker runs once a day per site, pulls Bing's query report, and writes matching rows to tracked_keyword_daily with engine bing. You can also POST a manual refresh from the app, at most once every 10 minutes per site.

  5. Switch the engine to Bing

Open Rank Tracking, choose the Bing engine, and read measured clicks, impressions, CTR, average position, bands and alerts from those stored rows.

Clicks, impressions, CTR and average position

For each tracked keyword and day, MrKeyword sums Bing query rows that match the keyword (exact or variant), then stores rounded clicks and impressions, CTR as clicks divided by impressions, and position as an impression-weighted average of Bing's avgImpressionPosition for those rows. Every value is labelled Measured with source Bing Webmaster Tools.

Bing's Search Performance documentation defines average position as the average of the topmost rank at which searchers saw your site for each impression. That is an average across real searches, not one live rank check from a single city or device. A day with zero impressions has no position; the chart shows a gap, not zero.

When first-party Bing tracking fits

Use it when the site is yours, Bing Webmaster Tools already shows the queries, and decisions need clicks and impressions beside position: prioritising Bing queries, checking whether a content change moved Bing averages, or comparing Bing movement to Google on the same keyword list. Use a SERP-based tool when you need competitor ranks, local grids, SERP features or positions with no impressions yet.

What MrKeyword does not do

  • It does not track competitor domains' Bing rankings through this feature; competitor numbers elsewhere are predictions, labelled Predicted, from MrKeyword's index.
  • It does not measure Microsoft Copilot citations or AI Performance metrics; those stay in Bing Webmaster Tools. Rank tracking here is classic search performance only.
  • It does not scrape Bing results or show live rank for one location.
  • It cannot show country, device or ranking-page detail Bing does not send in query stats.
  • It does not promise coverage beyond Bing's top query rows, which Bing refreshes on its own schedule (weekly for the query list API).

Plan limits for tracked keywords and websites are on pricing. For the full Google and Bing rank tracking feature set, see rank tracking on Search Console and Bing.

Questions and answers

Bing rank tracking questions

Do I need to verify my site in Bing before MrKeyword can track rankings?

Yes. MrKeyword only reads verified sites in the Bing Webmaster Tools account you connect. Add and verify the property in Bing first; MrKeyword matches your workspace website to that verified URL.

How often does Bing rank data refresh in MrKeyword?

Automatically once a day per website through the Bing sync worker. You can also request a manual refresh from the app, at most once every 10 minutes per site.

Why is Bing average position different from a rank checker I used?

Bing Webmaster Tools averages the topmost rank at which searchers saw your site across impressions. A rank checker records one results page from one check. Both can be correct at the same time.

Can I see which page ranks on Bing for a tracked keyword?

Not through rank tracking today. Bing query stats in MrKeyword do not include the ranking URL, so the app stores an empty ranking URL list for Bing rows instead of inferring one.

Does Bing rank tracking include Copilot or AI citation data?

No. These rows come from Bing search query performance only. Copilot citation metrics live in Bing's separate AI Performance report, which MrKeyword does not import into rank tracking.
