- Similarweb runs from $199 a month on monthly billing ($125 a month billed yearly) up to $649 for the full self-service package; our Similarweb pricing breakdown lists every package and limit.
- Every traffic number is a model. Similarweb, Semrush and Ahrefs each estimate from different data, so their numbers for the same site differ, and none of them matches the site's own analytics. The honest question is which model fits your question.
- You do not need Similarweb for a rough organic figure: MrKeyword's free website traffic checker gives an estimated monthly organic clicks range with no sign-up.
- Semrush sells competitor traffic as the Traffic & Market toolkit, Ahrefs as a $129 Lite plan plus a paid Traffic Analytics add-on, SE Ranking from $129 a month and SpyFu from $39 a month.
- MrKeyword (our product) is the free Similarweb alternative for organic traffic: from free, then $10 a month, and it shows real measured numbers for your own sites from Search Console. It has no channel breakdown and no audience data.
Disclosure: MrKeyword publishes this page and is one of the Similarweb alternatives compared. Every competitor price links to the official page we read it from on 2 November 2026. Where a page did not state something clearly, we say so rather than guess.
Why do people look for a Similarweb alternative?
Two reasons come up most: the price, and estimates that do not match the site's own analytics. Similarweb's self-service packages start at $199 a month on monthly billing, and the full package with SEO, AEO and ads data costs $649 a month, as its pricing page listed them on 2 November 2026. For a solo owner or a small agency, that is a large line item for a number they may check a few times a month. And when the estimate for their own site does not match Search Console or Analytics, the trust in the number goes with it. Similarweb itself says its figures are estimates and that differences from Google Analytics are expected, so the gap is not a bug; it is the nature of the data.
If you only need a rough size for a competitor's organic traffic once or twice, a free tool may already cover you: MrKeyword's free website traffic checker gives an estimated monthly organic clicks range for up to five domains at a time, with no sign-up and the model named. Read the result as a range, not a number.
How traffic estimates work, and why each tool gives a different number
Every third-party traffic figure is a model built on data the site owner never shared, and the tools disagree because they start from different data and different assumptions. No tool outside a company can see its real numbers, so each vendor makes the best estimate it can from what it can collect, and the vendors themselves say their numbers will not match the site's own analytics.
- Clickstream panels (Similarweb, Semrush). A panel of users, apps and extensions is scaled up to the whole internet through machine learning models. Good for total visits across channels, including direct and referral; weaker on smaller sites, where the panel sees few visitors.
- Rankings times click-through rate (Ahrefs). The tool finds keywords the site ranks for, estimates clicks for each from position, search volume and an average click-through rate, and sums them. Good for organic search broken down by keyword and page; it does not count non-search traffic, and Ahrefs says only Google knows the real click numbers.
- Links (MrKeyword). An estimate from a domain's position in a web graph built from links, calibrated on the real Search Console clicks of connected sites. Free, covers any well-linked domain, and shows the model and range; organic search only, and no per-keyword breakdown.
So the question is not which tool is accurate. It is which model answers your question. For how the methods differ in detail, read our guide to checking website traffic.
Where Similarweb is still the better choice
Similarweb is strongest where its own panel is the product: total traffic across all channels, app data and market research. Before you switch, be honest about whether you rely on any of these.
- Total traffic across channels. Its panel-based model covers direct, organic, referral, paid, email and social visits, not just search. The alternatives below measure search traffic or rank positions, and they will not give you a total-visit figure.
- App data. Similarweb reports mobile app installs and usage from the same panel, which none of the tools on this page offers.
- Market research. Market share, audience overlap and demographics come from the panel plus data partners, and its Business packages add up to 37 months of history and 100+ countries.
- A free sample. Similarweb's own site shows high-level sample data for any domain, enough for a first look before paying for anything.
Similarweb alternatives compared at a glance
The five Similarweb alternatives below split into two groups: tools that model traffic from their own web-wide data (Semrush, Ahrefs, SE Ranking, SpyFu) and a free tool built on your own search data (MrKeyword).
Similarweb and five alternatives
| Tool | Data source | What is measured | Free option | Starting price shown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Similarweb | Its own clickstream panel and data partners | Total visits across all channels, app usage, market share and audiences | Free high-level sample data on similarweb.com | $199/mo (entry package); $649/mo for the full package |
| Semrush | Its own clickstream panel, through the Traffic & Market toolkit | Estimated total traffic, 10+ channel breakdown, market share | Semrush Free plan, 10 reports a day | $139/mo for the SEO plan; the Traffic & Market toolkit is a separate paid add-on |
| Ahrefs | Its own crawler and keyword index | Estimated organic search traffic, by keyword and page; total traffic via the paid Traffic Analytics add-on | Ahrefs Free for verified sites; free traffic checker page | $129/mo (Lite); Traffic Analytics is a paid add-on on any plan |
| SE Ranking | Its own rank checks and databases | Rank positions and visibility for tracked keywords; competitor traffic estimates | 14-day free trial, no card | $129/mo (Core) |
| SpyFu | Its own index of organic rankings and paid ads | Competitors' keyword rankings and ad history; traffic estimates from rankings | No free plan listed | $39/mo (Basic) |
| MrKeyword | Your Search Console and Bing data, its own web graph | Measured clicks, impressions and positions for your own sites; estimated monthly organic clicks for any domain | Free plan, does not expire | Free plan; paid from $10/mo |
Semrush Traffic Analytics
Semrush is the usual Similarweb alternative for people who want competitor traffic inside a bigger SEO suite. On 2 November 2026 its pricing page listed the SEO plan at $139 a month (5 websites, 500 keywords tracked daily), and its Traffic & Market toolkit is a separate paid add-on on top of that, which Semrush's own Knowledge Base says is approximated from clickstream behaviour and is not interchangeable with Google Analytics. Its Free plan offers 10 reports a day with no credit card, and its free trial page offers paid plans free for 7 days. For the full plan table, see our Semrush pricing breakdown.
Choose it over Similarweb if you already run an SEO workflow and want traffic estimates next to keywords, backlinks and rank tracking in one login. Similarweb is stronger on total traffic across all channels, app data and market research, and its entry package costs less per month than Semrush's SEO plan plus the toolkit.
Ahrefs
Ahrefs is a suite built around its own crawler and keyword index, and it estimates organic search traffic from rankings. Its pricing page listed Lite at $129 a month (750 tracked keywords), Standard at $249, Advanced at $449 and Enterprise at $1,499. Total traffic figures, with a 10+ channel breakdown including AI traffic, come from its Traffic Analytics add-on, which Ahrefs sells on any plan including Free. Its free account page offers a Starter plan at $29 a month, and Ahrefs Free gives Site Explorer, Site Audit and Web Analytics for verified websites.
Choose it over Similarweb for organic traffic broken down by keyword and page, and for backlink research. Similarweb is stronger on total traffic across all channels and on app data. Ahrefs says its traffic numbers will not match a site's own Analytics, and only Google knows the real click numbers. See our Ahrefs pricing breakdown for every plan and add-on.
SE Ranking
SE Ranking is a rank tracking suite, and its traffic view is built on the positions it checks. On 2 November 2026 its pricing page listed Core at $129 a month with 2,000 keywords tracked daily and Growth at $279 with 5,000, with 20% off on annual billing. It offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card. Its traffic estimates come from the rank data it collects, not from a clickstream panel, so it is a different kind of number from Similarweb's.
Choose it over Similarweb if your real job is tracking many keywords across client sites and the traffic figure is a by-product. Similarweb is stronger on total traffic, channels, audiences and market research.
SpyFu
SpyFu is a competitor research tool built around organic rankings and paid ads history. On 2 November 2026 its pricing page listed Basic at $39 a month (5,000 keywords tracked weekly), Pro + AI at $119 and Team / Agency at $249, with 25% off on annual billing and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Its traffic estimates come from the rankings it indexes, and its specialty is how competitors' organic and paid positions have changed over 10+ years of history. It lists no free plan.
Choose it over Similarweb for competitor keyword and ad history at a lower price. Similarweb is stronger on total traffic, channels and market research. See our SpyFu pricing breakdown for every plan and limit.
Check any site's organic traffic free, no sign-upMrKeyword's website traffic checker gives an estimated monthly organic clicks range, with the model named. It is our own estimate, not Similarweb's figure.
Check website trafficMrKeyword
MrKeyword is the free Similarweb alternative for organic traffic, and the only tool on this page that shows real measured numbers for your own sites. It reads your Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools data, so the clicks, impressions and positions for your own sites are measured, not estimated. For any other domain, its website traffic checker gives an estimated monthly organic clicks range with a 3x band, no sign-up and the model named. It does not resell any vendor's panel data. Our page on what MrKeyword is lists each feature and where its data comes from.
- Measured data for your own sites: daily clicks, impressions and average positions from Search Console and Bing, over 7 to 365 days, by device and country, with a wrong-page flag. See rank tracking.
- Estimated organic traffic for any domain: the free website traffic checker gives a monthly organic clicks range for up to five domains at a time, with the model and range shown. Organic search only; it does not show total visits, channels or audiences, which is what Similarweb sells.
- Keyword research with monthly search volume fetched live from Google Keyword Planner through the official Google Ads API, labelled with its source and fetch time (free keyword research tool).
- Pricing: Free covers 1 website, 25 tracked keywords and 100 audit pages a month. Starter is $10 a month for 1 website and 500 tracked keywords; Growth $19 for 3 websites and 1,500; Agency $49 for 10 websites and 5,000. Yearly billing is ten times the monthly price. See pricing.
Where Similarweb is stronger: total traffic across all channels, app data, audience and market research, and a panel that covers sites you do not own. MrKeyword does none of those. For your own sites, though, its numbers are measured, not modelled, and that is the part Similarweb cannot give you.
What is the cheapest Similarweb alternative?
For organic traffic on your own site, the cheapest Similarweb alternative is free: Google Search Console, and MrKeyword's free plan on top of it. Among the paid tools on this page, SpyFu Basic and SE Ranking Core start lowest. Which one is enough depends on the job:
-
If you only need a rough organic figure for a competitor
Use MrKeyword's free website traffic checker or Similarweb's free sample data on its own site. Both are free; both are estimates; read them as ranges.
-
If you need your own site's real numbers
Google Search Console is free and measured. MrKeyword's Free plan adds a daily history, tracked keywords and a 100-page audit, and paid plans start at $10 a month.
-
If you need competitor traffic inside an SEO suite
Semrush's SEO plan with the Traffic & Market toolkit, or Ahrefs Lite with the Traffic Analytics add-on, both put traffic estimates next to keywords and backlinks. SE Ranking Core is the cheapest entry if rank tracking is the main job.
-
If you need total traffic, channels and market research
Stay with Similarweb. Its entry package at $199 a month is the only tool on this page that models total visits across all channels from a panel.
Which Similarweb alternative should you choose?
Pick by the question you need answered each week, not by the length of the feature list. The honest split is: Similarweb for total traffic, channels and market research; Semrush or Ahrefs for traffic inside a bigger SEO suite; SE Ranking or SpyFu if rank tracking or competitor history is the main job; MrKeyword for measured data on your own sites and a free organic estimate for any domain.
| If you need… | Tools that fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Total traffic across all channels, app data and market research | Similarweb | Its panel is the product; none of the alternatives models total visits |
| Competitor traffic inside an SEO suite | Semrush, Ahrefs | Traffic estimates next to keywords, backlinks and rank tracking in one login |
| Organic traffic broken down by keyword and page | Ahrefs | Its rankings-times-CTR model gives per-keyword and per-page organic figures |
| Rank tracking for many client keywords | SE Ranking, SpyFu | Their core product is tracked positions, with traffic as a by-product |
| Your own site's measured clicks, positions and a free organic estimate for any domain | MrKeyword, Google Search Console | Measured data for sites you verify, from free |
Many teams combine the two kinds: Similarweb or a suite for competitor and market work, and Search Console data for the weekly view of their own sites. Our Similarweb pricing breakdown and SpyFu pricing breakdown show the full plan tables if you want to go deeper on either side.
What MrKeyword does not do
MrKeyword is not a drop-in replacement for Similarweb if you depend on its panel data.
- It does not model total traffic across all channels. Its estimate for other domains is organic search clicks only, with a 3x band.
- It has no app data, no audience overlap and no market share figures.
- It does not run a clickstream panel. Its estimate for other domains comes from a web graph of links, calibrated on the real Search Console clicks of connected sites.
- It does not show a per-keyword breakdown of a competitor's traffic the way Ahrefs does.
- It cannot import Similarweb history; you connect Search Console and MrKeyword starts its own daily copy.
If you are comparing traffic checkers specifically, see our guide to checking website traffic, which covers how each method works and why the numbers disagree.
Questions and answers
Similarweb alternatives questions
Is there a free Similarweb alternative?
Yes, for organic traffic. MrKeyword's website traffic checker gives an estimated monthly organic clicks range for up to five domains at a time with no sign-up, and Similarweb's own site shows free high-level sample data for any domain. For total traffic across all channels, there is no free replacement: Similarweb's panel is what produces that figure.
Why do Similarweb, Semrush and Ahrefs show different traffic numbers for the same site?
Because they estimate from different data. Similarweb and Semrush scale up a clickstream panel, Ahrefs multiplies estimated search volumes by click-through rates for the keywords a site ranks for, and none of them can see the site's own analytics. The vendors themselves say their numbers will not match a site's measured data, so compare sites inside one tool rather than across tools.
Is Similarweb better than Semrush for traffic data?
For total traffic across all channels, app data and market research, yes: Similarweb's panel is built for that, and Semrush's Traffic & Market toolkit is a paid add-on on top of its SEO plan. For traffic inside a bigger SEO workflow, Semrush is the more practical choice. The entry prices also differ: Similarweb's entry package is cheaper than Semrush's SEO plan plus the toolkit.
Can MrKeyword replace Similarweb?
Only if you do not need total traffic across channels, app data or market research. MrKeyword shows measured clicks, impressions and positions for your own sites from Search Console and Bing, and gives a free estimated monthly organic clicks range for any domain with a 3x band. It does not model direct, referral, paid or social visits, and it has no audience or app data.
What is the cheapest Similarweb alternative?
For your own site, Google Search Console is free and MrKeyword starts free, with paid plans from $10 a month. Among the paid tools on this page, SpyFu Basic at $39 a month and SE Ranking Core at $129 a month start lowest, but neither models total traffic the way Similarweb does.
